PETROL vs DIESEL

In a hurry to get home in time to cook lunch for my mom celebrating her birthday, I was zooming in my car while scanning both sides of the road for a petrol bunk.

Eyeing the fuel gauge nearing empty, I said: " Looks like I wont be able to drive this thing much longer  if I don't fill some DIESEL soon ! "

To which my sonny boy (engrossed in some game in his laptop) stated ever so matter-of-factedly : "Then, you're not going to be able to drive this thing at all. "

It took me a second to make sense of what he'd just said; and then, I couldn't help smiling. I was driving a PETROL car  :)

Soon enough, my sonny boy had a genuine doubt. " Why is that we say 'Petrol Bunk' and not 'Diesel Bunk' ?? "

Hmm. Good question. But nope, I didn't know the answer!
